    Auto Technicians

    Good with your hands and love cars? Use your skills and interests towards an automotive career. Auto technicians are essential and are an excellent starting point in your career with room to grow.     Essential Functions:

    • Review and discuss work orders with the Service Advisor and/or Supervisor.
    • Inspect engine operation, road test vehicle and test automotive systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices.
    • Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems including fuel, brake, steering, tires and suspension, engine and drive train, emission control and exhaust, cooling and climate control, electrical and electronic systems using hand tools and other specialized automotive equipment.
    • Test and adjust repaired systems to manufactures performance specifications.
    • Perform scheduled maintenance service such as oil changes, lubrications and tune-ups.
    • Consult with the Service Advisor on work performed, general vehicle conditions and future repair requirements.

    Position Requirements:

    • Considerable knowledge of methods, materials, tools, diagnostic equipment and techniques used in vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance; diagnosing mechanical problems and performing repairs; safety practices and procedures.
    • Working knowledge of electrical systems including computerized induction and ignition systems.
    • Ability to problem solve; analytical and critical thinking; work weekends and holidays; read, write and prepare repair orders; test drive automatic and manual transmission vehicles; establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and customers; follow written and verbal instructions, including manufacturers’ service specifications, communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing.
    • Possess your own tools; a valid driver’s license; a valid mechanical certificate from Miami-Dade County; ASE certifications and/or a minimum of two years of experience or graduate of an automotive trade school.
    • Must maintain factory required training as well as local licensing requirements.

    Service Advisors

    If you’re a people-person with some experience in the automotive industry, you could be a great service advisor. You’ll help the customer understand their vehicle better and provide the much-needed information they’ll need during their service visit.

    What are the day-to-day responsibilities?

    • Greet customers in a pleasant and timely manner and obtain vehicle information.
    • Write up customers’ vehicle problems accurately and clearly on the repair order.
    • Refer to service history, inspect vehicle, and recommend additional needed service. Advise customers on the care of their vehicles and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications.
    • Provide a complete and accurate written cost estimate for labor and parts.
    • Establish “promised time.” Check with dispatcher if necessary.
    • Obtain customer signature on repair order and provide customer with a copy.
    • Check on the progress of repairs throughout the day. Contact customers regarding any changes in the estimated or promised time, explain cost and time requirements in detail, and get proper authorization before any additional repairs are performed.
    • Review repair orders to ensure that work is completed and additional work and authorization is noted. Close repair order as appropriate.
    • Explain completed work and all charges to customer.
    • Implement a quality control process to eliminate comebacks.
    • Handle telephone inquiries regarding appointments and work in progress.
    • Makes sure customers are walked to the cashier to ensure all questions have been answered and walks customer to their vehicle, thanking them for doing business with Toyota/Lexus.
    • Sets the next service appointment at the time of active delivery and provides the customer a copy of it.
    • Closes all repair orders upon completion.

    Position Requirements:

    • Technically knowledgeable, experienced, or trainable on manufacturer product line.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills. Outgoing and patient personality with good customer relations ability.

    • Minimum 5 year’s experience in the automotive industry.

    Product Specialists

    What are the day-to-day responsibilities?

    • Greets, listens, and offers assistance to customers to determine their needs, interests, and preferences.
    • Demonstrates vehicles by explaining the features, benefits, characteristics, and capabilities of the vehicles; takes customers on test drives and explains warranties and services.
    • Develops buyers by maintaining rapport with previous customers; suggests trade-ins; responds to inquiries, builds value of the dealership and the product by meeting prospects and networking.
    • Closes sales by overcoming objections, negotiating price; completes sales or purchase orders; explains provisions, offers warranty, services and financing; collects payment and delivers the vehicle to the customer.
    • Maintains a high level of product knowledge by completing factory required certifications.
    • Maintains the CRM daily including the entry of all customers and completes follow up for all customers.
    • Conducts business in an ethical and professional manner.
    • Log daily appointments into the CRM system with any and all applicable notes.

    Porters

    Do you have a knack for organizing and are able to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles? Apply to be a porter. Porters are essential in both the sales and service departments. They’re in charge or making sure every vehicle is organized in the right spot and looks presentable.

    What are the day-to-day responsibilities?

    • Move vehicles from the service drive to the shop or service parking lot.
    • Move vehicles to the service drive for customer delivery.
    • Wash vehicles.
    • Maintain the service drive and parking lot clean.
    • Ensure that vehicles are safely secured in the event of an impending hurricane or other severe weather condition that could adversely affect the dealership’s vehicle inventory.
    • Ensure that vehicles are parked in assigned areas. Make sure that all vehicles are locked and all keys are marked and put away correctly.

    Position Requirements:

    • Must have a valid and unrestricted driver’s license with no Type A violations in the last three years based on violation date, a maximum of two Type B violations in the last two years based on violation date and must be able to drive vehicles with a manual transmission.

    What are the day-to-day responsibilities?

    • Protects gross profit by arranging financing so outside sources do not have an impact on selling margins.
    • Generates additional income through the sales of credit insurance, vehicle service contracts, GAP coverage, and other products available.

    • Deals turned into the Accounting department must be sent within 72 hours.

    Parts Specialists

    Parts specialists help customers purchase the right automotive parts needed for their vehicle. Customer service skills are a must and an advanced knowledge of automotive mechanics and terminology is a plus. If this sounds like you, we’d love for you to join our parts team.

    What are the day-to-day responsibilities?

    • Assists all customers (retail and shop) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
    • Informs customers of companion part requirements and specials, and ensures that the customer is exposed to the full product line.
    • Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.
    • Reviews body shop estimates to be sure the parts that are ordered are correct and all pricing is in line with the estimate.
    • Provides high level of service to internal and external customers.
    • Pulls and fills orders from stock.
    • Notifies Parts Manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.
    • Locates out-of-stock parts from outside source and submits an emergency order, if necessary.

    • Notifies the body shop when all parts have arrived and when they will be delivered.
    • Pulls orders for delivery to body shop, making sure all parts are tagged with customer names and job number.
    • Follows up on back-ordered parts.
    • Verifies will-call and back-order files weekly and returns to vendors, or stocks those items not picked up or required.
    • Replenishes assigned inventory daily.
    • Assists outside sales representatives with their orders.
    • Makes sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order.
    • Ensures that all charge sales are signed by the customer.
    • Ensures that all customers receive their copy of the invoice.
    • Issues credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice, or its number, is available so that purchase and pricing can be verified.
    • Issues and tracks requested shop tools to Technicians.
    • Keeps orderly records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special order parts.
    • Sets up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.
    • Solicits assigned accounts by phone.
    • Keeps front counter area clean and uncluttered.
    • Participates in all training programs that are made available.
    • Keeps current on new products and product updates.
