Bean Associates Practice Kaizen with Lean Six Sigma Certification

Last week, BAG associates had the opportunity to earn their Lean Six Sigma (LSS) yellow and green belt certifications. It’s been an ongoing group project for a few months now, with Dr. Weismann and Dr. Ganske from the FIU School of Business mentoring our leaders on how to be more efficient and effective with our customer service and business practices.
Lean Six combines the practice of Lean Manufacturing, which was developed by Toyota, to decrease the turnaround time of a current process and make it more efficient overall. Talk about facilitating our “kaizen” mantra! It’s also one of today’s most in-demand business credentials and a certification means you demonstrate excellence in management efficiencies.
Once the program is completed, associates gain a broad understanding of the fundamental LSS concepts (applicable to every industry), learn how to improve their department’s processes, reduce costs and increase customer satisfaction, as well as their chance to rise into managerial positions.
In gratitude for the knowledge gained, Chief Financial Officer George Wiltz and President Chris Roberts presented the FIU business school with a donation for the continued success of the program. After such a great associate turnout, we have a feeling we’ll be seeing more of the FIU business team in the future.
