Bean Automotive Inaugurates Automotive Technician Apprenticeship

“You are all part of the tech renaissance of Miami-Dade County” said Mayor Daniella Levine Cava during last month’s ribbon cutting ceremony to inaugurate Bean Automotive Group’s first ever automotive technician apprenticeship.

It was a highly anticipated Tuesday morning with all representatives of the collaboration in attendance and hyped to finally unveil a program four years in the making! Our Dealer Principal Lori Bean introduced Mayor Cava, who proudly gave her stamp of approval on our innovative approach to talent recruitment. It’s not every day the mayor stops by to acknowledge our efforts in creating meaningful career pathways for people. Points for team BAG! The ceremony was hosted by our human resources department and successfully attracted local media attention.

We also finally had the pleasure of meeting the official group of young techs participating in the program. After the inauguration, it was back to school time for them. The first day of class began promptly after a delicious Pinecrest Bakery feast. A long table decorated with fruits, sandwiches and empanadas of all kinds was tastefully presented for all attendees. There were definitely leftovers. If you know, you know.

Apprentices not only get hired by BAG but are also students of Miami-Dade College, which means they’re automatically enrolled in classes and get paid at the same time! All the resources they need are provided, including toolkits worth thousands of dollars!
