Education Never Stops

“Education never stops,” said our corporate ambassador Joaquin Azar during the opening prayer at the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Festival. Prior to the celebration, parishioners gathered for mass. With the fourth wave of the pandemic on the rise and uncertainties about children wearing masks in schools causing controversy throughout the county, it’s safe to say there was plenty to pray for.
As the leading sponsor for the festivities “we have lots to be grateful for, especially our teachers who are bravely returning to the classroom,” Azar gracefully emphasized to the parish members waiting to start the Covid-cautious festivities. The event was said to take place this year in February but due to Covid-19 mandates set by the county, it was postponed to Saturday, August 7th.
The celebration took place on campus in OLOL’s spacious field behind the church. Tables were strategically placed six feet apart and people were asked to bring their own food to party picnic-style. A dj booth was also set up to prompt some dancing but out of Covid caution, dance partners saved a little extra room for the holy spirit.
Some highlights of the night included blessings from Monsignor Schwanger and his announcement of BAG returning as the 2022 festival sponsor.
